Refrigerator repair in Chino Hills | Chino | Corona | Ontario Ca were Apco Appliance and Air tech Dave is repairing an ice maker problem where this unit is not making ice. Dave removed the water valve from back of unit by pulling the refrigerator out and removing the back cover. Then he attached a voltage meter to ice maker sylenoid to view what voltage was there. He then cycled then ice maker and waited until ice maker came to its fill postion. Voltage of 120 volts was at the valve sylenoid but valve did not open to send water threw to ice maker. This means its a bad dual water valve assm. He then UNPLUGED the machine, turned the water off and proceded to replace the bad dual water valve. The above pictures give reference to the repair. Always UNPLUG any unit before repairing it. Do not attempt repairing a machine with out some experience with voltage for safety. Good luck.

The tech Dave put is hand over the upper air vent in the refrigerator section and felt no air coming in from the freezer. He opened the freezer door and looked on the back wall to see frost forming on it. He removed the back freezer panel to see that the coil was iced over from a bad defrost thermostat not turning on the defrost heater located around the evaporator coil. This disk thermostat is a very common cause of cooling problems in these units. When frost forms on the coil it blocks the fins so that air can not pass threw. Washing machine repair out of Chino Hills | Chino | Ontario | Corona Ca repairing a Whirlpool Kenmore sears style washing machine that will not spin or agitate. When the tech Dave arrived at the location. He set the washers timer to spin and motor ran but the tub was not turning. The machine was making a grinding and cracking noise. He removed the front and pulled the motor out to find that the coupling was cracked. He installed a heavy duty coupling which has a metal center for long lasting use. He then snaped the motor and the pump back on and then re-installed the cabnet. When our Apco Appliance Tech arrived the first thing Dave did was to pull out the unit to see if the condencer was dirty. After removing the back cover he then witnessed that the condencer fan motor was not running and the compressor was extremly hot. It was obvious to him that the problem was a bad condencer fan motor. This is a very common problem with these units if you do not clean your condencer properly once a year. Maytag washing machine repair on a washer dryer unit not spinning and left with water by Apco Appliance and Air in Rowland Heights | Diamond Bar | Walnut | Hacienda Heights Ca. Dave the tech started the washer in a spin cycle and the motor just hummed. Dave then tipped the machine back so to access the belt. There he found that the belt would not turn. He then discovered that the bearing for the pump pulley had road up on the pump pulley shaft and locked the pump from turning to drain. He installed a new pump to get the machine up and running again. This issue can also be a very noisy washing machine at times.

This unit was not freezing anymore. A call for a GE refrigerator not freezing in upper part of the freezer and fresh food compartment is usually an air flow problem. Dave the technician found that the freezer fan motor not running. The freezer fan motor aka evaporator fan motor has to run to circulate air over the evaporator so the heat can be drawn out of box by the liquid refrigerant. He found that the fan motor was bad and he had to install new to get this unit back up and running. Air is pushed threw the vents by the units blower motor located in furnace. This motor was not turning the blower fan cage to push the air. The condencing unit located outside was running properly and seemed to have enough freon in it. But there was no air circulating in the house across the evaporator coil inside. The AC and Appliance repair tech Dave open the blower chamber to find that the run capacitor for the blower motor was bad.The blower motor itself was fine but with out the run capacitor functioning the motor would not be able to pick up speed or strength to turn the cage.Here are a few pics.

Washing machine repair out of West Covina | Covina | La Verne | San Dimas | Glendora  Ca were this washing machine repair or washer dryer troubleshooting is on a  Kenmore washer leaking water right in front of machine when it fills. We removed the cabnet cover to expose the washer tub and found the pump which attaches to motor shaft was leaking. This pump clips to the motor and motor shaft which drives the pump to drain. When the motor turns in the direction to spin, the impeller in the pump is angled to push water threw to drain and out of the unit. This leaking of water is a common problem with these Sears Kenmore washers. Here are pics.

The washer would agitate and drain but would not spin. Dave the tech found that the clutch for the basket spin tube assembly was broken. This comes in what they call a brake package. To access this part you will need to pull out the transmission. First you remove the cabinet to get a visual of the inside of the machine. Then you remove the agitator within the tub. after that you unclip the pump and motor from the transmission. Then tilt the unit back and remove the screws holding the transmission to the frame then slide it out. This is a fairly hard job to do. It is wise to pay some to do this so it is done right. Apco Appliance and Air in Chino Hills Ca | Chino Ca | Ontario Ca | Corona Ca. is working on a clothes dryer repair on a whirlpool dryer service NOT HEATING AT ALL. The tech Dave UNPLUGGED the machine and removed the back cover to get a visual of the rear thermostats. He disconnected the two wires attached to the white thermal fuse to check the fuse. With his meter he checked continuity across the fuse. He had no continuity which means the fuse was bad and needs replacement. He installed a new fuse and the units burner fired up fine.
